OECD figures ‘very encouraging’ – Padoan
P(ANSA) – Brussels, May 6 – New data from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development on Italy are “very encouraging for the country,” Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan said. Recent tax cuts combined with spending cuts and the public sector’s repaying huge debts to firms should have a “considerable effect on confidence and growth,” he said. Matteo Renzi’s government has cut taxes on low earners, slashed political costs and vowed to repay almost all public-sector debts to firms, hopefully boosting growth.BR/P
