‘Maniac’ suspected in Florence death

P(see previous).BR(ANSA) – Florence, May 5 – Florence police said Monday they suspected a maniac had killed a prostitute found tortured to death after being strapped to an iron bar.BRThe woman probably died slowly after being sexually tortured and left for dead, they said.BRBruising around the tape used to tie her to the bar showed she had vainly tried to get free, forensic experts said. The body was found in a crucifixion-like pose, prompting fears of a serial killer after a woman found in a similar position survived a year ago.BR/P
