Guinean musician near Bologna reports racist assault

Guinean musician near Bologna reports racist assault (ANSA) – Bologna, November 5 – A noted Guinean musician living in Italy on Tuesday filed a complaint accusing an elderly driver of racist assault in a town near Bologna.

Sourakhata Dioubate, a 36-year-old drummer who has collaborated in the past with television and theatre director Daniele Abbado, reported to police that in mid-October, a car hit him while he was riding a bicycle, after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign.

After impact, the musician refused to rise from the street until the police came. The driver came out of his car and lashed at Dioubate with an iron bar screaming racists insults, and then fled the scene, the musician reported.
