BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS CELEBRATE THE PASSION FOR SAILING AT THE GENOA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW

Sea and sailing always are synonyms of British Virgin Islands, destination of excellence in the Caribbean for lovers of boat holidays will have the possibility to discover the charm of 60 Islands at the most important event of this kind, the Genoa international boat show, from 2 to October 6, 2013. For the duration of the event, the Tourist Board of the British Virgin Islands will be present as exhibitor, booth E1, to provide information and advice to the public on a trip to the BVI.
The British Virgin Islands are considered one of the best destinations in the world for organizing holidays in sailing boat: the constant winds, safe landings, anchorages and well protected, the attentive service and the proximity between the Islands that can navigate “to view” are just some of the features that make these islands a paradise for yachtsmen. The BVI, moreover, operate the most popular charter company in the world that offer boats equipped for navigation, with or without crew.
During the year, the waters of the BVI are important scenario competitions and sailing events. The most famous, the BVI Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival, now in its 42 Edition, will be held between March 31 and April 6, 2014 and will be attended by crews from around the world who will compete in the spectacular Sir Francis Drake Channel. The regatta is a veritable feast of the sea that attracts every year a large audience that can attend competitions and immerse yourself in the sparkling atmosphere everywhere.
To recreate this feast on the quay of the port of Genoa, the Tourist Board organise a Caribbean-style happy hour on days of Salone Nautico, where to taste the typical cocktail of islands such as the painkiller, based on Pusser’s Rum. Appointment Wednesday 2 October at 17.00 and Thursday and Friday at 12.00 and 17.00.
